Gandesa the cooperative is located in the town of Gandesa, which is the capital of the region of Terra Alta with a population of almost 3,000 inhabitants, with an area of 70.79 km, south of Catalonia, at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level.
On 19 February 1919 was commissioned by Josep M ª Saws, founder and first president of the entity, accompanied by Jaume Fontanet, board member, the project of building the Gandesa Cooperative Winery, then known as Agricultural Cooperation Gandesa, the modernist architect Cesar Martinell, a disciple of architect Puig Cadafalc and the architect Antoni Gaudí. The winery has Gandesa Cooperative with 453 members, most of whom live and work exclusively from their land, being the most important crops in the vineyard, almond and olive trees.
