Bodega Vulcano was founded in 2009, with the aim of producing small production runs of young wines where quality prevails over quality.
Located in the heart of the island of Lanzarote, this winery works the vineyard in a way that is classic in the area. The vine is cultivated in a deep hole in the form of an inverted cone covered with volcanic sand, which protects the plant from the wind and provides it with moisture. Thereby obtaining a grape of great quality for producing all its wines. Another characteristic of the winery is cold-preserving the musts in order to carry out different fermentations throughout the year.
Vulcano Dulce is a sweet wine made with Moscatel de Alejandría from the winery’s own vineyards cultivated in the traditional way on the island.
After manual harvesting following a lengthy ripening aimed at achieving the desired sugar levels, the grapes are sunned on volcanic sand for a few days. After this time the grapes are pressed and the resulting must is topped up with 15% wine alcohol, thereby halting the fermentation.
Vulcano Dulce is a sweet, mature and intense wine. It has a spectacular nose, where the aromas of candied fruit stand out with notes of honey and fragrant herbs. On the palate it reveals all its power with a great deal of volume and density, and with a very lingering finish.
