Characteristics of Vizcarra
Izcarra is a red wine from the Ribera del Duero region produced by Bodegas Vizcarra, a winery that was founded in 1991 by Juan Carlos Vizcarra, a wine enthusiast who decided to follow in the footsteps of his father.
The climate in the Ribera del Duero region is Mediterranean yet continental. It is characterized by a low to moderate rainfall, dry summers and long, cold winters, temperatures varying considerably between seasons. This wine is a varietal Tinto Fino (100 %) from vines over 20 years old planted in glass trellises. With regards to production, it is taken very seriously. The harvest is completed manually in boxes of 15 kg. After selection and stripping, grapes undergo a 17-day fermentation at a temperature of 28ºC. Then malolactic fermentation takes place in American oak barrels. Finally, the wine rests in barrels of American and French oak for 15 months.
Serve at 16ºC
