Specialists in working with the Treixadura native variety, the winery has had support from the Comando G winemaking team since 2014, who are in charge of the production processes for the various creations.
Viña Meín Eiras Altas is a white wine from the D.O Ribeiro produced by the Viña Meín winery. This wine is a blend of two different grape varieties: Treixadura and Godello.
The grapes used to produce this wine come from vines that are almost three decades old, which grow on an east orientation on granite and sandy soils. The vineyards are cultivated using sustainable techniques and methods, with no herbicides or chemical products used, allowing the vineyards to develop independently.
The harvest is carried out in two distinct phases, to ensure that all of the grapes are picked at their optimum point of maturation. The bunches, after having been selected at the winery, are pressed and being the vinification process. Fermentation and ageing, which between them last 8 months, is carried out with native yeasts and in 500-600 litre capacity used French oak barrels. Viña Meín Eiras Altas is bottled without being clarified or stabilised. Only 4,500 bottles of this wine is produced per vintage.
Viñá Meín was founded back in 1988 in Ribeiro with the aim of reviving the prestige that the Ribeiro region enjoyed back in the 16th-17th Century. The winery specialises in working with the native Treixadura grape, and since the 2014 vintage has worked with the support of the winemaking team Gomando G, who oversees the production process of the winery’s products.
