Characteristics of Victoria Torres Listán Prieto
Victoria Torres Listán Prieto is a single-variety Listán Prieto red wine produced by Matthias i Torres winery under the DO. La Palma, in the Canary Islands.
The bunches Victoria Torres Listán Prieto wine is made with come from a couple of spectacular plots located in the middle of a forest at an altitude of 1,250 meters which have volcanic soils composed of clays and organic matter.
After the harvest, which is carried out manually, the bunches are completely de-stemmed and undergo a short maceration. Alcoholic fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts in 600-litre oak barrels. The resulting wine ages for around 11 months in the same type of barrels.
Victoria Torres Pecis represents the fifth generation of the Matías i Torres winery, which was founded in 1855 and has an important wine heritage of vineyards planted with native varieties, where they work in the most natural and least interventionist way possible. Victoria is a young winemaker, deeply rooted in her land, who cares for her productions with care, offering us unadorned wines, with all the volcanic character and energy of the Canary Islands, unmissable wines of limited production which are already found in many very important restaurants around the world.
