Valdelana Rosado is a rosé a wine produced by the winery Valdelana in the D.O Rioja.
This is a family run winery with a long history of viticulture, it is known that the Valdelana family have been cultivating the lands of El Ciego (La Rioja Alavesa) since the 16th century.
Valdelana Rosado is produced mainly from the grape Tempranillo (95%) and with a small hint of Viura (5%). The vines are planted in calcareous-clay soils and small percent of chalk.
In regards to the location, the vines are found in the mountainous regions of Sierra Cantabria, planted at the foot of the mountains and protected from the cold northerly winds providing a good climate for vine growth.
The production of wine is completed according to traditional methods, and fermented at a controlled 14ºC.
