Tua Rita Per Sempre Syrah is an organic, barrel-aged red wine made from the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Sangiovese varieties by Tua Rita in Tuscany (Italy).
Tua Rita was founded in 1984 when Rita Tua and Virgilio Bisti retired to a country house in Tuscany, in a small town called Val di Cornia (Suvereto). With free time and a passion for wine, the couple began to make their own wines under the principles of organic farming and only using native yeasts in the winery. This saw them become one of the area’s most iconic wineries, producing rich, elegant and very immersive wines.
Tua Rita Per Sempre Syrah comes from vineyards planted in markedly clayey soil with a medium-high presence of calcareous rock. They practice organic farming and do not use herbicides or pesticides. Yields are kept to a minimum to ensure a concentrated flavour. When the grape reaches optimum ripeness, it is harvested by hand in 15 kg boxes.
In the winery, Tua Rita Per Sempre Syrah macerates for 20 days and ferments with native yeasts. It then ages for 20 to 22 months in new French barrels. Finally, it is left to rest in the bottle for a few months before being sold.
Tua Rita Per Sempre Syrah is considered one of Tua Rita’s limited edition flagship wines. It is the result of the founder Virgilio’s desire to experiment and is undoubtedly one of the best expressions of this noble variety in Italy. It is perfect for fine Tuscan wine collectors.
