Tombu Prieto Picudo Rosado is a rose wine from Castilla-León, prepared by Dominio Dostares. The winery is located in San Roman de Bembibre (León).
Tombu Prieto Picudo Rosado is 100% made from Prieto Picudo, an unusual variety in Leon. The grapes come from very old vines around 90 years old, situated 810m above sea level in Oteros Pajares.
The vineyards support a continental climate with large temperature contrasts which favour the aromatic development of the grapes.
For processing, the must is fermented for 22 days at a controlled temperature of 14°C. During the fermentation process whole bunches are added, this is known as the technique of 'madreo' and is used in some areas of Leon for the development of rose wine.
