Characteristics of Tinto Figuero 4

Figuero Tinto is a young red wine from the Ribera del Duero produced by the García Figuero winery and vineyards.

This winery is located in La Horra, close to Aranda del Duero (Burgos), the capital of the region of Ribera del Duero. The vineyards are located at 800m above sea level. Its climate is Mediterranean with continental influence, with long, cold winters and short, hot summers. The climate is characterised by low rainfall and a large amount of sunshine (about 2400 hours of sunshine per year).

The altitude enhances the contrast in temperature, summer reaches temperatures of up to 40 ° C, and winters may reach -16º C. These temperatures help a perfect ripening of the grapes. Tinto Figuero is made with 100% Tempranillo, with an average age of between 15 and 20 years. The harvest is done manually in baskets of 12 kilos. Subsequently a cold maceration occurs for 2 to 3 days at 12 ° C. Alcoholic fermentation occurs spontaneously at a maximum temperature of 28 ° C, with 2 movements per day and "1 rack and return" at the end of fermentation. After fermentation, maceration occurs for 15 days.

The wine is made in new oak barrels (50%) and 1 year old: 75% American, 25% French.

Finally it is clarified with egg white, is bottled and is then aged in the bottle before marketing.

Tasting notes Tinto Figuero 4

Sight Cardinal cherry trim with good intensity. Clean, bright and with good presence. Nose Complex and pervasive, very fruity at first with aromas of red and black fruits. Subtle mineral notes. Taste Elegant, smooth and fresh. Very good balance with soft tannins. Red fruit aftertaste. Persistent and pleasant.
Sight Intense maroon colour with scarlet-purple reflections. Clean and bright. Dense and creamy tears. Nose At first nosing, the toasted and spicy aromas provided during its short ageing in wood are released. When swirling the glass, ripe red and black fruit are noticed along with some balsamic touches. Taste Very nice attack and a warm, powerful and light mid palate. Tasty and velvety smooth. Very well balanced wine with the right acidity. Sweet tannins. Good finish, long and thin. A round, elegant and easy-drinking wine.
Sight Good layer where the garnets dominate a clean and bright background, reflecting its youth. Tears invade the crown, announcing alcoholic potential and smoothness on the palate. Nose Toasted notes with spicy funds. The late fruit under the wood and is reminiscent of mature berries mixed with raspberries and blueberries. Taste Moderate acidity, enhances the splendor of a structured and well-rounded wine on the sweet and velvety tempranillo tannins, which make the passage through the mouth is soft in its initial phase and an elegant and long final.
