Terraprima blanco 2012 es un coupage de Xarel.lo y Riesling plantados en suelos calcáreos en medio del Macizo del Garraf, en la D.O.Penedès. Su artífice es Carlos Esteva, enólogo de Can Ràfols dels Caus. A lo largo de todo el proceso vitícola no se hace uso ni de herbicidas ni pesticidas. Tras la vendimia, manual, el mosto fermenta en depósitos de acero inoxidable donde permanece hasta su embotellado.

Today, the D.O Penedès is experimenting with viticulture and winemaking like no other region in Spain, home to a vast range of different grape varieties. The region is home to traditional white and red varieties, foreign ones, noble ones, permitted grapes, experimental grapes, and those that demostrate intrinsic qualities. As well as the grapes, the production techniques used are also worth noting, the location of the vineyards, the yields per hectare, the wines produced using traditional, original or even exclusive blends, the different ageing times, as well as the complexity of the different barrels used! But the reality is, given the vast diversity, it can be difficult to pinpoint what really defines a wine from Penedès, since there are so many types of wines and wineries in the region. However, the common denominator of all the wines from Penedès continues to be balance and quality.
Can Ràfols dels Caus is Carlos Esteva, one of the few winemakers who live on the farm and strive to achieve their objectives, respecting the characteristics of the landscape and the architecture of the place in a sustainable framework. Harvest after harvest, in Can Ràfols dels Caus they experiment with different wines and varieties with the aim of making wines with a good ageing capacity, but fine, natural, elegant and with personality, which simultaneously show the fruit, the soil and the personality of the producer.
