Characteristics of Tardieu-Laurent Côtes-du-Rhône Les Becs Fins Blanc
Tardieu-Laurent Côtes-du-Rhône Les Becs Fins Blanc is a white wine made from Viognier, Grenache, Roussane, Marrsanne and Clairette grapes. It is produced by Maison Tardieu-Laurent and belongs to the AOC Côtes du Rhône.
Domaine Tardieu-Laurent is a winery founded in 1994 that acts as negociant. It agrees prices and ways of working with producers, and either buys the grapes or the produced wine from them. In this way, it has wines from almost all the denominations of the Rhone. It is currently owned solely by the Tardieu family. The winery is run by Michel Tardieu, who also advises Bodegas Mas Alta in Vilella Alta, in the Priorat.
The vines for Tardieu-Laurent Côtes-du-Rhône Les Becs Fins Blanc are 20 years old in the case of Roussane, Viognier and Marrsanne, and 40 years old in the case of Grenache and Clairette. The vines grow on pebbled soils in Gard and on clay and limestone slopes in Vaison and Puyméras. Once fermented, the wine ages in cement vats for 6 months so that it can finish stabilising. Lastly, it is lightly filtered and bottled without clarifying.
Tardieu-Laurent Côtes-du-Rhône Les Becs Fins Blanc is a wine that succeeds in perfectly matching several white varieties of different origins, while exploiting the best of each of them.
