Taleia Brisat is a white wine produced by the Castell d'Encús winery in Talarn (Lleida), D.O. Costers del Segre.
Castell d'Encús is the personal project of Raül Bobet. Located in the Pyrenean area of Pallars Jussà (Lleida), in a mountainous area at an altitude of 800 to 1,000 meters, the estate has a chapel and a number of 12th century stone presses from Castell d'Encús, which uses them to make some of its wines. The orientation is mainly south-west with good protection from the cold north winds.
Raül Bobet has an honest philosophy, based on maximum care of the vineyard, passion, the utmost dedication and respect for nature. The winery does not use any type of herbicide or pesticide in its agriculture. Its aim is to produce a limited amount of bottles originating entirely from the fruit of its vines.
Taleia Brisat is a white wine made with Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon grapes from its own vineyards located at an altitude of some 1,000 meters.
The grapes are harvested by hand and placed in 10-kg boxes. The wine has been fermented in contact with the skins, with native yeasts, with one part in the 12th century stone presses, and the rest in stainless steel tanks. Once fermenting is complete, the wine is aged for 12 months in used French oak barrels. No sulfites or any type of oenological improver has been added throughout the entire manufacturing process.
This is the first vintage of this natural wine as Taleia Brisat. Previously the natural Castell d'Encús wine was -SO2.
