Characteristics of Son Negre
Son Negre is the leading wine produced by AN Negra, a winery founded in 1994, which recovered the indigenous varieties of Majorca in order to produce wines with their own character. Son Negre is a blend of Callet, Manto Negro and Fogoneu grapes from three small vineyards located in the area of Son Negre, with a maximum production of 500gr per vine. It is fermented in 3000L wooden vats and aged in new French oak barrels for 18 months. It remains in concrete deposits for two months before being bottled and 8 more months in the bottle before coming out on the market. A great red wine from a very limited production with a label designed by Miquel Barceló.
