Shaya Verdejo is a white wine from the Rueda produced by Bodegas Shaya. This wine is a varietal Verdejo.
The grapes used for Shaya Verdejo comes from old vines over 70 years old planted on plots near Segovia. These are plots of very low yield, but production is of high quality.
Shaya Verdejo, once harvested and transported to the winery, is partially fermented in barrel. Shaya Verdejo finally remains in contact with the lees for a few months before being bottled and marketed.
This wine is produced under the supervision of the Australian winemaker Belinda Thomson. Bodegas Shaya group is part of Bodegas Juan Gil Family, which has several small wineries spread over different appellations of origin.
