Santpere Blanc is a white wine made by the Cooperativa Sant Pere de Moixent in the D.O. Valencia.
In summer of 2017, the Cooperativa Santpere de Moixent board made the decision to leave the technical and commercial management of the body to the Celler del Roure team, seeking to increase the very low income that the cooperative growers had been receiving.
The Celler del Roure team decided to make wines that reflect the territory, reclaiming village wine, and displaying all the effort and character of the area’s winemakers.
The first wines, Santpere and Santpere Blanc, were released in early 2018.
Santpere Blanc is a wine made with Macabeo and Malvasía, from vineyards located at 550 metres above sea level on clayey-calcareous soils, planted in bush form.
After a manual harvest, the grapes are fully destemmed and fermented in concrete tanks with native yeasts. Once fermentation has finished, the wine rests for three months in these tanks.
Santpere Blanc is a light, crispy and aromatic wine. It stands out for its elegance on the nose, with aromas of ripe white fruit and notes of Mediterranean flowers. On the palate it is honest and refined.
