Characteristics of Santbru
Santbru is a red wine from the D.O Montsant produced by Portal del Montsant, in Marça (Tarragona).
Santbru is produced from the varieties Cariñena, Syrah and Grenache. These are old vines (70 years old) spread over 5 fields, south and southeast facing. The soils are varied: clay, sand and calcareous.
The harvest is completed by hand in small 16 kg containers. For production, after a traditional winemaking process, Santbru is aged for 16 months in new 225l and 500l French oak barrels.
Each variety is aged separately when the final blend is performed after the ageing process.
