Characteristics of Resalte Crianza
Resalte Crianza is a red wine from D.O. Ribera del Duero produced by Bodegas Resalte de Peñafiel. The crianza is a benchmark wine in which passion is invested.
This wine is a single varietal Tempranillo (100 percent). Its grapes come from vines aged 30 years and older, from different soils, which give various characteristics to the wine, making it powerful, complex and elegant.
The production of Crianza takes place, as with other Resalte wines, via gravity flow and comprehensive temperature control. Fermentation is carried out following a cold maceration treatment at 8ºC, with intense pump-overs that aim to treat the skins and extract tannins and aromas. The maximum fermentation temperature is 30ºC with the aim of giving the wine the best parts of the grape skins. Finally, a maceration of around 21 days gives us a structured, fine and elegant wine.
Resalte Crianza is aged for at least 14 months in French (80 percent) and American (20 percent) oak barrels.
