Characteristics of Quod Superius
Quod Superius 2008 is the older brother of Bodegas Hispano-Suizas, belonging to the D.O.Utiel-Requena. After selecting the best vineyards and selecting the best bunches in the vineyard, the varieties ferment separately in American and French oak barrels. After 20 months of ageing, the barrels are tasted one by one, and the best ones are selected to make the blend for this cherished red wine, which then ages for 10 months more in French oak barrels.

SightAn intense, pretty picota red colour with violet reflections. Clean and very bright, with fine, slow-falling tears on the glass.NoseIntense aromas, compex and rich in nuances. Sweet and hot spices stand out on a background of ripe red fruit, very-well integrated wood and mineral notes. This wine shows powerful and elegant aromas that add compledity and distinction to the wine.TastePowerful attack, with a spectacular concentration of fruit. The tannins are very polished, and along with the acidity they make this wine's passage through the mouth very velvety. Roasted notes and spices appear at retro-olfaction. A majestic red wine.
The D.O Utiel-Requena has made real progress in forming its own identity, promoting the use of the red Bobal grape variety, not only because of the vast area it covers, but also because of its oenological potential, with many wineries and producers making great strides in the development and cultivation of this variety. As a result of this hard work, the region is now producing wines with extraodinary organoleptic qualities that perfectly transmit the character and personality of the terroir of the Utiel-Requena region.
