Characteristics of Quatro Pagos
Quatro Pagos is a red wine from La Rioja prepared by Maetierra Dominum, members of the Vintae group. It is a blend of Tempranillo, Graciano and Grenache varieties.
The grapes used comes from low yielding old vines selected from four different areas. Hence the name Quatro Pagos.
The selection comes after years of studying the microclimates and soil from each plot.
The harvest takes place during the entire month of October with boxes of 15 kilos capacity so that the grains do not break. A selection process is performed in the winery.
Quatro Pagos is aged in in new French oak barrels aged between 15 and 18 months. The aging time for Quatro Pagos may vary slightly depending on the vintage. It seeks to find the perfect harmony between fruit and oak notes.
Maetierra Dominum exclusively produces wines of high quality. For these, the grapes are selected carefully and aging takes place in new French oak barrels.
