Pinino Rosso di Montalcino is a red wine made from the native variety of Tuscany, Sangiovese grosso, by the Pinino winery under the DOC Rosso di Montalcino denomination.
Pinino is a wine company which is currently owned by two couples in love with the landscape and its products, although it has its origins in 1950. It consists of a kind of natural amphitheater to the north of the city of Montalcino (Tuscany) which, due to both its climate and terroirs, allows it to produce exceptional wines. Work which is going from strength to strength with the acquisition of more vineyards and the construction of a new cellar.
Pinino Rosso di Montalcino comes from vineyards with an average age of approximately 15 years, planted in rich clay and limestone soils. Sangiovese grosso, the Montalcino variety par excellence, grows under very particular weather conditions, limiting the yield of the vine and with a high degree of concentration of the grape. The harvest is carried out manually after a careful selection of the bunches.
When the Pinino Rosso di Montalcino grapes arrive at the winery, they proceed to a second selection on a special classification table. For its vinification, it goes through a long fermentation and is then transferred to Slavic oak and French oak barrels for 6 to 8 months. Finally, it refines in the bottle before going to market.
Pinino Rosso di Montalcino 2016 is a harmonious, spiced and very pleasant red wine. A 100% Tuscan wine which will make an impression and is easily paired.
