Characteristics of Petit Siós Blanc
Petit Síos Blanc is a D.O. Costers del Segre white wine produced by Costers del Sió.
This wine is a coupage of Sauvignon Blanc (45 percent), Chardonnay (40 percent) and Muscat petit Grain (15 percent). The manual harvest takes place during the coolest hours of the morning. Later, this wine is stored in a refrigerated room for 48 hours. It is cold macerated and gently pressed. It finally ferments at 14-15ºC for 18 days.

When we refer to the DO Costers del Segre we think of wines with a continental character, which in some respects is true, but extensive replantation of international grape varieties means that the majority of wines produced here lack a geographical or territorial trademark, even though the vast majority of the wines are technologically perfect. However, there are currently wineries such as Mas Blanch i Jové, Costers del Sio, L’Olivera, Lagravera and Thomas Cusiné, among others, who concentrate their effors on producing wines with what are considered varieties native to the region. However, the majority of this region is still dominated by classic international varieties.
Costers del Sió is on a farm that lies at the foot of Montsec. Bodegas Costers del Sió belong to the denomination of origin Costers del Segre. The farm has 600 ha. located at the end of Flix, in the region of La Noguera (Lleida) Agreed the cultivation of the following grape varieties: Syrah, Tempranillo, Garnacha Tinta, merlot, chardonnay, pinot noir and cabernet sauvignon. The vineyards are planted in highly heterogeneous soils at an altitude of 310 meters and a continental Mediterranean climate trend.
