Characteristics of Petit Bernat
Petit Bernat is a red wine from the D.O. Pla del Bagués made of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Picapoll Tinto, Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes from the winery's organic vineyards. The wine is aged for a minimum of three months in second and third year French oak barrels. This wine certainly doesn't go unnoticed, especially with its great value. Petit Bernat is the first wine in Spain to earn the Carbon Footprint Certificate, which certifies the low level of CO2 released into the atmosphere throughout all the stages of the production process.

Home to great red, white and rosé wines, as well as sparkling, naturally sweet and rancio wines, perhaps it’s a little early to try and pinpoint what it means to be a wine from the DO. Pla del Bages. However, for now the region is known for their red wines, both single-varieties and blends, but especially their white wines produced with the Picapoll grape, a native variety to the region and used by almost all of the wineries.
