Characteristics of Petit Baldomà Blanc
Baldomà Petit Blanc is a wine from Costers del Segre prepared by the Vall de Baldomar cellar. This wine is a blend of Macabeo, Riesling and Gewürztraminer. Vall de Baldomar understood that the climate of the area in which the winery is located in the province of Lleida, was ideal for growing grapes from Central European lands. Sudden temperature differences create superb conditions for them to grow.
Riesling, typical of Alsace, and Gewürztraminer, original from Germany, are blended with the Macabeo, one of the most widespread varieties from the Spanish territory.
This wine is created with the intention of making better those everyday moments that make life wonderful. It is an excellent value wine, ideal to enjoy with friends or family.

When we refer to the DO Costers del Segre we think of wines with a continental character, which in some respects is true, but extensive replantation of international grape varieties means that the majority of wines produced here lack a geographical or territorial trademark, even though the vast majority of the wines are technologically perfect. However, there are currently wineries such as Mas Blanch i Jové, Costers del Sio, L’Olivera, Lagravera and Thomas Cusiné, among others, who concentrate their effors on producing wines with what are considered varieties native to the region. However, the majority of this region is still dominated by classic international varieties.
When I was little at home and made wine. The Porta Hermenegildo and Trepat, the Quildo, went to a fortune in Barcelona, but always kept family and sentimental ties with Baldomir, the town where he was born. In 1981 he decided to make vineyard, to make their own wine. They built a small winery in 1983. In 1989 he founded the company Vall de Baldomar SAT, which began marketing its wine in 1990. His daughter Martha was added to this exciting project, standing in front of the company. Today, his winery produces more than 100,000 gallons of quality wine and exports 70% of bottled wine to countries like Germany, Japan, Switzerland, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Holland, England and France. His wines have received numerous awards and honors. All this with the invaluable support of prestigious winemaker Joan Mallofré Milan.
