Characteristics of Pere Ventura Cupatge D'Honor

Pere Ventura Cupatge D´honor is a cava from the D.O cava region, produced by Pere Ventura. It is a vintage defined by it´s finesse, delicacy with its own personality. A unique cava where the corporeality and structure of Xarel.lo meets the floral and fruity aroma of Charonnay.

The vineyards are situated in the Penedès region, around 400 metres above sea level. They are on average around 25 years old and have a low yield. This cava undergoes its first fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a constant temperature of 16 ° C. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle, following traditional methods.

Ventura Cupatge D´Honor is a complete and rich cava, with an elegant profile that is aged for 48 months and is expressed in notes of fine pastries, with toasted and smoked nuances. It is a delicate cava with infinite shades.

Winery Pere Ventura

Cava was born under the constant shadow of its French counterpart, Champagne. However, produced over 1,200km away and a gap of over 100 years, Cava was always going to be a completely different product, even if produced using the same method and and sometimes with the same varieties. Firstly the climate and soil have a profound impact on the yields, while the plant strains that thrive here and completely different to those in the Champagne region. Fortunately, as more winemakers are becoming convinced of this, they are producing Cavas with their own personality, showing off the art of the second fermentation in the bottle like no other wine region in the world.
