Characteristics of Pequeño Santos
Pequeño Santos is a white wine from Rias Baixas, produced by the Benito Santos winery.
This winery is located in the town of Vilanova de Arousa (Pontevedra), in the northwest corner of Spain.
Pequeño Santos is a varietal Albariño. Its grapes come from three farms owned by the winery: the estate of Vilanova, that of Saiar and Xoan, the grapes are from ancient pre-phylloxera vines. In addition, all the vineyards are grown organically.
For the preparation of this white wine, the grapes undergo a spontaneous fermentation separately. After the wine is made, the final blend is produced.
It is remarkable, that the Benito Santos winery uses organic farming certified by the Regulatory Council of Agriculture of Galicia.

SightStraw yellow colour, steely, with greenish reflections. Very clean and very bright.NoseClean nose with a great intensity in which we can appreciate fruity aromas; fresh and crunchy white and yellow fruit with pit, citric notes, and some tropical reminiscences. Little by little, floral notes appear together with slight mineral, herbaceous, saline touches. Seductive and complex.TasteIn the mouth, it is a fresh and unctuous white wine, with a mid-palate marked by appetising fruit, more citric tan in the nose, medium-bodied and with a silky texture. Excellent acidity, which incites the next sip, provides definition and depth. Fruity and mineral aftertaste. Absolutely recommendable. Magnificent value (and pleasure) for money.

The Albariño grape is a spanish white variety with a strong floral and terpene character, ideal for producing not only young fresh and aromatic whites, but also (barrel) aged wines. Initially the DO. Rías Baixes was only seen as a region of great hope for Spanish whites, but it has managed to turn this hope into reality.
