Characteristics of Pepe Yllera Roble
The wine Pepe Yllera Roble is a tribute to Pepe Yllera, founder of Grupo Yllera and a visionary who began to invest in the wine sector in the 1980s in the Castilla y León area. Grupo Yllera started out in Rueda, and are present today in Toro, Ribera del Duero and La Rioja.
Pepe Yllera Roble is a red wine made by Yllera in Boada de Roa, in the D.O. Ribera del Duero. There they control about 150 hectares of vineyards, where they look for low yields per hectare, a maximum of 4,500 kg, to achieve a balanced and concentrated grape.
The Pepe Yllera Roble vineyards in Ribera del Duero are between 30 and 40 years old. Pepe Yllera Roble is a wine made with Tempranillo and Carbernet Sauvignon varieties. The grapes are harvested by hand, which allows a double selection, in the field and in the cellar. The must ferments in stainless steel tanks at 28 °C. During fermentation the wine is pumped over daily to extract more colour and control the temperature. Lastly the wine is clarified and racked and aged for 6 months in American and French oak barrels.
Pepe Yllera Roble is a fruity and friendly wine that invites you to enjoy it often.
