Pater is a red wine produced by the Vins Ficaria winery in Montsant.
It is a varietal Grenache grape from various vineyards between 30 and 80 years old located at an altitude of between 300 and 625 meters on clay-limestone soils. The harvest is completed manually and the grapes are transferred to the winery in small plastic boxes of 15 kg. On arrival at the winery, stemming is carried out and the grapes are pressed. Fermentation of each variety is carried out separately in 1000 litre stainless steel tanks using wild yeast from the vineyard. After fermentation, there is a long maceration of 20 to 30 days to seek maximum extraction. Pater is matured for 12 months in French oak barrels.
