Characteristics of Pardas Aspriu Criança

Produced by the winery Celler Pardas only in the best vintages and with the best grapes from the 2.69 ha property La Barraca. These vineyards were planted in 1996 with an average production of 3,000 Kg/ha. The blend and the barrels used depend on the characteristics of each year's fruit. Grapes are manually harvested and selected. After a separate maceration for a month approximatelly, the must undergoes an alcoholic fermentation in cement tanks coated with resin. The Cabernet Sauvignon undergoes the malolactic fermentation in barrels and the Cabernet Franc, in deposits. After that, the wine is aged in French oak barrels and lightly filtered before being bottled. Limited production of 2,030 bottles. An exceptional wine from the Penedès that is worth enjoying.

Tasting notes Pardas Aspriu Criança

Sight Intense cherry red colour with fine violet reflections. Medium robe. Abundant and dense tears that stain the glass. Nose Intense and powerful notes of red fruit in all its forms: fresh, ripe and candied. A hint of black fruit and very well integrated strong toasted aromas provided by the wood. Touches of spicy, creamy (yogurt), chocolate, coffee, leather and hints of wet earth and minerals. Taste Intense, warm and wide attack. Fleshy, sweet and tasty mid palate, with ripe fruit and well balanced notes of wood. Ripe tannins. Long finish that leaves an aftertaste of fruit and spices.
Sight Cherry red color, high layer. Nose Very fresh and balsamic, licorice, rosemary. Very pronounced mineral component, one can smell the earth. Fruits of the Mediterranean: pomegranate, bitter orange curtain, that binds with a memory of Cointreau liqueur. You may also smell a hint of raspberry jam. Roasted plums are also many. Taste It has a discreet entrance and sense of volume growing at times to fill in the mouth. Then, long and persistent. Many fruits and clean tannins and fleshy.

Winery Pardas

Today, the D.O Penedès is experimenting with viticulture and winemaking like no other region in Spain, home to a vast range of different grape varieties. The region is home to traditional white and red varieties, foreign ones, noble ones, permitted grapes, experimental grapes, and those that demostrate intrinsic qualities. As well as the grapes, the production techniques used are also worth noting, the location of the vineyards, the yields per hectare, the wines produced using traditional, original or even exclusive blends, the different ageing times, as well as the complexity of the different barrels used! But the reality is, given the vast diversity, it can be difficult to pinpoint what really defines a wine from Penedès, since there are so many types of wines and wineries in the region. However, the common denominator of all the wines from Penedès continues to be balance and quality.
