Characteristics of Pago de Larrainzar Reserva Especial
Pago de Larrainzar Reserva Especial is a red wine from the Navarra region produced by Pago de Larrainzar. This wine is a blend of Merlot (35%), Cabernet Sauvignon (35%), Tempranillo (15%) and Garnacha (15%), all of which are taken from de Pago de Larrainzar, a vineyard which spans 15 hectares.
As for its production, the different grape varieties undergo alcholic fermentation, maceration and maolactic fermentation seperately. The one is then aged for 13 months and 20 days in French oak barrels (60% new 40% one year old)
Some wine regions have to bear the weight of their own prestige and fame, and this is certainly the case for Navarra. For many years, the white and reds produced in this region came second to the rosés produced here with the noble Grenacha variety. However, the last two decades have seen ongoing changes in the wine-making sector in Navarra, changes which have completely transformed the styles of wine produced and have been consistently worthwhile, resulting in some of the white and red wines produced in Navarra being ranked among best rated in Spain.
