Characteristics of Paco & Lola Vintage

Paco & Lola Vintage is a white wine produced by the winery Paco & Lola, in Meaño (Pontevedra), within D.O. Rías Baixas.

Paco & Lola
is a young and modern winery founded in 2005 by a group of viticulturers and wine producers of the region of O Salnés who came together as a cooperative under the name Sociedad Cooperativa Vitivinícola Arousana. Currently, the cooperative has over 400 members, and it is the one with the most partners in Rías Baixas.

Paco & Lola has more than 200 hectares of its own vineyards divided into over 1800 plots, all located in Valle do Salnés.

Since 2010, Paco & Lola is part of Proyecto Life Viñas Atlánticas, a project that involves all partners to minimise the use of chemical products.

Paco & Lola Vintage
is a white wine made with 100% Albariño, selecting the best grapes from its oldest vineyards located in the sub-area of Valle de Salnés. These vineyards are planted on sandy-loam, granitic and slightly acid soils.

The harvest is carried out manually in 20-kg boxes. Once the grapes arrive at the winery, they are destemmed and pressed. Then, they ferment in stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature, 16-18ºC for 21 days. Once the alcoholic fermentation has ended, the gross lees are removed and the wine is left with its fine lees for a year, with a weekly batonnage. After this ageing, it spends 4 years in stainless steel deposits. Before bottling, it is stabilised.

Tasting notes Paco & Lola Vintage

Paco & Lola Vintage 2013 is a deep, structures and very expressive wine. Very honest on the nose, it has aromas of ripe white fruit, with marked notes of aromatic herbs, slightly spicy. In the mouth, it is unctuous, with a lot of volume, with a long and fresh finish, where it shows us all the ripe fruit and a mineral aftertaste once again.

Designation of Origin D.O. Rías Baixas

Winery Paco & Lola

Rías Baixas wines would not be where they are today without the native Albariño grape variety. Although red wines are also produced in Rías Baixas, practically 100% of Rías Baixas wines are white. Among them, the vast majority of them are made with the Albariño grape. As well as young wines, fresh and aromatic, the region also makes wines aged in the barrels, complex wines with great personalities. Albariño wines can either be single varieties, or be part of a blend with other characteristic grapes of the region: Treixadura, Loureira Blanca and Godello.

Imágenes y situación D.O. Rías Baixas

Bold and casual wines made from the Albariño variety, cultivated in the heart of D.O. Rías Baixas, in the area of Valle de Salnés. A privileged area thanks to its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, thanks to the temperature variation and its sandy-loamy soils, creating the perfect habitat for the maximum expression of the Albariño variety. Lively, rebellious, different wines. Dare to try them!
