The D.O. Rueda is a denomination spanning across Castilla y León, along the River Duero and its tributaries. It is mainly white wines that are produced in this D.O., and Verdejo grapes are by far the most popular variety. With hints of flowers, fruit, scrub herbs and very fine aromas, these grapes give the wine a very strong personality.
After several years dedicated to winemaking, Richard Sanz, decided to test his knowledge, independent of their generations and founded in 2005 with his brothers, Mark and Alexandra, Bodegas Menade. A society that alludes to the old term used by winemakers as "winery site. This meant that each grower's right, "once agreed with the winery, prices, quantities and qualities of the grapes, had to purchase a certain quantity of wine and its corresponding" site warehouse "where to leave your wine. The restless search in the renewal and continued persecution of an evolution Rueda wines were some of the guidelines, which the brothers Sanz promoted in this project.
