This grape liquer contains the elegance of wine spirits and the character of grappa. On the 27th November 1984, Benito and Giannola Nonino created this liquer by distilling the skin, pulp and grape juice in a single operation. Ministerial authorization for the production of this liqueur was granted following a specific request by the Noninos. This liqueur has been so successful over the years that Italian and foreign distilleries have been persuaded to follow the Nonino model.
Nonino Il Sauvignon is made from Sauvignon grapes harvested at their optimum ripeness. It ferments in stainless steel tanks under vacuum at a controlled temperature. It distills very slowly to allow the volatile components, responsible for the perfumes, evaporate properly and condense, in order to keep the precious organoleptic characteristics of the chosen grape varieties intact. It is aged for 6 months to a year in a stainless steel tank.
