Characteristics of Nas Del Gegant

It was in 1997 that the vineyard owned by Bodega Escoda-Sanahuja started being grown according to the organic farming. Since 2003, the biodynamic method has been implemented. Since the 2007 harvest, their wines are produced without any added sulfurous. The winery is part of the Mediterranean Biodynamic Work Group as well as members of Natural Wine Producers (PVN in Spanish). All their wines are natural wines produced according to biodynamic agriculture methods. Nas del Gegant  is a red wine, made of a blend of Cabernet Franc, Carignan, Grenache and Merlot.

Tasting notes Nas Del Gegant

Nas Del Gegant 2016 is a juicy, fruity and fresh red wine. A good vintage. On the nose, red and black ripe fruit with floral notes and a mineral touch stand out. In the mouth, it is easy to drink, light and with a long and persistent finish.

Sight Ripe cherry color with maroon edge. Clean and bright. Nose Very expressive wine, with fruity aroma of red and black very ripe fruit, strawberries, plums, figs and flowers. Its aroma is completed by herbaceous notes and citric and dry reminiscences. Taste It is a very pleasant wine, with a good attack, a light mid-palate, silky tannins and fantastic acidity. It is a very fresh, well defined, young, long and funny red wine.

    Winery Escoda Sanahuja

    As with many other Catalonian wine regions, the DO. Conca de Barberà is developing its own territorial identity that over the years has been redefining the personality of the wines and the region, with the help of the red Trepat grape variety. The Trepat grape can be used to produce good sparkling rosés, rosés with character, fresh red wines, as well as elegant blanc de noirs. In just a few years the region and this grape variety have shown their potential, their versatility, and the possibility of carrying out R&D (Research and Development) with them. There are still few wineries who produce single variety wines using this grape, but most importantly, all of them have become aware of the obligation to enhance the uniqueness that defines the territory and the new style of wine to be imposed in the twenty-first century.
