Characteristics of Mibal Crianza
Mibal Crianza is a red wine from the Ribera del Duero region produced by Hornillos Ballesteros, a winery founded by Miguel Hornillos and Javier Ballesteros, both from families with a strong heritage in viticulture.
This wine is produced using only Tinta del País (100%) grapes grown on the wineries own vineyards that are around 18 years old.
The harvest is carried out in 12kg boxes, It goes through a careful selection where clusters of inferior quality are removed.
As for its production, maceration lasts for 20 days at a controlled temperature (a maximum of 25ºC) with stemmed grapes to conserve all the grapes fruity aromas. Malolactic fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks, then, it is aged on its lees. Following this, it is clarified and then is lightly filtered before being bottled.
It is an extrodinary process.
