Menade V3 Viñas Viejas
White wine Barrel. 8 months in French oak barrels.

Characteristics of Menade V3 Viñas Viejas

V3 Viñas Viejas Verdejo is a white wine from Rueda prepared by Menade. This wine is a varietal Verdejo.

The grapes used comes from old vines that were selected during the last 25 years. These are very low yield and are treated by natural organic viticulture.

The harvest is done manually after a careful selection of the clusters.

V3 Viñas Viejas Verdejo goes through a process of inerting treatment fluids to chemically treat the grapes, with dry ice the temperature reaches -80. Thus it is not necessary to use any sulfur.

The pressing takes place in whole bunches and the wine is then racked into French oak barrels of different ages, barrels are 500 litres.

Spontaneous fermentation uses wild yeasts. V3 Viñas Viejas Verdejo finally spends at least 8 months on its lees in French oak barrels.

Finally, V3 Viñas Viejas Verdejo is clarified with bentonite and goes through a natural stabilization, it is filtered if necessary, depending on the vintage.

The Menade winery is led by the three Sanz brothers. Marco is responsible for viticulture, Richard is the winemaker and manager and Alejandra responsible for communication.

The project began in 2005, although the family already has five generations of tradition related to wine.

D.O. D.O. Rueda

Winery Menade

The D.O. Rueda is a denomination spanning across Castilla y León, along the River Duero and its tributaries. It is mainly white wines that are produced in this D.O., and Verdejo grapes are by far the most popular variety. With hints of flowers, fruit, scrub herbs and very fine aromas, these grapes give the wine a very strong personality.

Other wines from D.O. D.O. Rueda

After several years dedicated to winemaking, Richard Sanz, decided to test his knowledge, independent of their generations and founded in 2005 with his brothers, Mark and Alexandra, Bodegas Menade. A society that alludes to the old term used by winemakers as "winery site. This meant that each grower's right, "once agreed with the winery, prices, quantities and qualities of the grapes, had to purchase a certain quantity of wine and its corresponding" site warehouse "where to leave your wine. The restless search in the renewal and continued persecution of an evolution Rueda wines were some of the guidelines, which the brothers Sanz promoted in this project. Belonging to a 6th generation of wine professionals in the trade, today let us see the character passionate, adventurous and custom winegrowing, land and, of course, their wines.
