Characteristics of Meinklang Gruner Veltliner
Meinklang Gruner Veltliner is a biodynamic white wine made with the Grüner Veltliner variety by the Meinklang family winery in the D.O.P Burgenland (Austria).
Meinklang is a family winery that has been producing wines for a long time in the Hungarian border area, but the whole estate was recently renovated using organic and biodynamic principles. Believers in Rudolph Steiner's theories and certified by Demeter biodynamic agriculture, these wines are born from the direct relationship between the cosmos and the earth.
The Meinklang Gruner Veltliner vineyards are planted on loamy clay soil, near Lake Neusiedler. The strains live alongside a great variety of plants and animals and grow with a natural balance through the use of biodynamic agriculture. Once the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are harvested manually.
The Meinklang Gruner Veltliner grapes are destemmed and pressed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place spontaneously in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. It then ages on lees for a short time. Finally, when the wine is ready it is gently filtered before being bottled.
Meinklang Gruner Veltliner is an easy-to-drink biodynamic white wine that shows the natural excellence of the native Gruner Veltliner variety.
