Characteristics of Mas de l'Abundància
A new vintage of Mas de l’Abudància, an excellent wine from the Monstant region. The Mas de l’Abundància Viticultors is the winery who created this red wine.
Regarding the climate in the Monstant region, the winters are soft and dry, without strong frosts. The first vines begin to sprout in March, with the first rainfull coming in April. The summers are dry with high temperatures during the day which reaches peak in August. Finally the rains at the end of September bring a freshness to the vineyards and allow for good ripening.
Mas de l’Abundància is a blend of 3 different grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Cariñena (30%) and Garnacha (20%). The wine passes through a maceration process which lasts around 20-26 days and is fermented for 7-10 in stainless steel tanks at 25ºC.
The DO Montsant is situated in the province of Tarragona, surrounding the DOQ Priorat. Although a young Denominación de Origen, The DO Monstant is located in a land with a large history in winemaking. The wines, mostly reds, are typically made with Grenache and Carignan grapes and are authentic, wild and artisanal. Wines produced in this region are usually extremely good value given the high quality.
