Tasting notes Martín Codax Gallaecia

Sight A ripe lemon yellow in colour of a  high robe. Nose Intensely aromatic with fruity notes of dried apricot, raisins and figs. Reminiscences of honey, marmalade and a background of botrytis. Taste On the palate it is enveloping and, with a noticeable acidity, it can leave a persistent aftertaste
Sight Intense yellow with golden trims. Bright. Glyceric tear.
Nose Complex and rich aromas. Intense notes of exotic fruit and raisins with hints of citrus. Floral notes and memories of honey with a touch of botrytis. Taste Elegant wine from the Rias Baixas. Wide, sweet and live attack. Unctuous mid palate with more notes of citrus than the nose. Retronasal of quince and tropical fruit aromas. Very persistent finish with pleasant sensations.
Amazing dry white wine, full of sweet notes at the same time.

Designation of Origin D.O. Rías Baixas

Winery Martín Códax

Rías Baixas wines would not be where they are today without the native Albariño grape variety. Although red wines are also produced in Rías Baixas, practically 100% of Rías Baixas wines are white. Among them, the vast majority of them are made with the Albariño grape. As well as young wines, fresh and aromatic, the region also makes wines aged in the barrels, complex wines with great personalities. Albariño wines can either be single varieties, or be part of a blend with other characteristic grapes of the region: Treixadura, Loureira Blanca and Godello.

The first Albariño with the Martín Códax label was made from the 1986 harvest. Its name evokes the figure of a medieval poet and illustrious troubadour, and it was the first serious project in Rías Baixas to definitively challenge the image of sparse and cloudy wine. After years of hard work, large investments and difficult decisions, this winery has demonstrated that it not only holds a sixth sense for foretelling new trends in the wine market, but can also execute them with impeccable skill.
