Mark Angeli La Lune is a single-varietal Chenin Blanc white wine produced by the La Ferme de la Sansonnière winery as a Vin de France, in the Loire Valley, France.
Mark Angeli La Lune comes from the lower part of the estate. This Mark Angeli wine is named after the vineyard where the Chenin Blanc grapes used to make it grow. These vines are aged between 4 and 80 years old, growing in plots with clay and limestone soils.
These varied soils and vine ages give the wine a special character and depth. A Chenin Blanc that started as the winery’s basic wine and has now become a flagship of Anjou.
Mark Angeli is a winegrower who skillfully interprets the qualities of the Chenin Blanc grape and produces dry wines in an area of sweet wines, which means he cannot label them as an A.O.C. Anjou . However, Angeli would rather focus on this aspect of the Chenin grape, which has led him to create low-production but exquisite mineral wines, making him an icon of the Loire Valley.
