Marco De Bartoli Marsala Superiore 10 Anni 50cl is a Grillo variety fortified wine made by Marco De Bartoli in the DOP Marsala.
Marco De Bartoli is responsible for reinventing Marsala more than 40 years ago by including used barrels. This is a typical fortified wine from the west coast of Sicily which, thanks to its aging process using the soleras method, went from being a cooking wine to a world-renowned fortified wine. Now, Bartoli's children follow their father's legacy in each of their products.
Marco De Bartoli Marsala Superiore 10 Anni 50cl comes from vineyards located in Samperi, in the heart of western Sicily. It is made exclusively with Grillo grapes, taken from strains aged between 19 and 41 years old, planted in medium-textured limestone-sandy soils with a 25 hectolitre yield per hectare. The crop is 100% organic, no chemical products are used and the harvest is manual.
Marco De Bartoli Marsala Superiore 10 Anni 50cl is gently pressed, it decants naturally and ferments spontaneously with native yeasts in oak and chestnut barrels at room temperature. It is then fortified with a mistela produced with fresh must and brandy obtained from the same grape as the base wine. It is then refined using the old perpetuum method (Soleras). This aging process involves adding small quantities of new and young wine to wines that have already aged in barrels for about 10 years.
Marco De Bartoli Marsala Superiore 10 Anni 50cl is a typical Marsala fortified wine that stands out with its great personality. Dynamic, fresh and rich.
