Characteristics of Luzón Blanco
Luzón Blanco is a white wine from the D.O Jumilla produced by the winery Luzón. This wine is an equal blend of 2 different grape varieties: Macabeo and Airén.
After the harvest has been carried out, the grapes are swiftly transported to the winery´s facilities. At the winery, the grapes are destemmed and lightly pressed. Following this, racking occurs and the obtained must is clarified.
Subsequently, fermentation is carried out. This lasts for 20 days at a controlled temperature which oscilates between 10º y los 16º. This is done with the objective of preserving the freshness of the fruit.
Luzón is a young wine, and is not aged before being bottled.
The Luzón winery is one of the most prominent wines in the D.O Jumilla and boasts over 500 hectares of its own vineyards.

DO Jumilla is located on a high plain in the eastern region of Spain, acting as a transition zone between the Mediterranean coastal area and the high central plateau of Castile-La Mancha. The vineyards of Jumilla are spread over the municipality of Jumilla, in Murcia, and six counties in the southeast of the province of Albacete: Ontur, Tobarra, Albatana, Hellin, Montealegre and Fuente Alamo. The main variety of the area is the Monastrell grape variety, a noble and robust variety which produces small bunches of small dark-coloured grapes very rich in sugars and other noble components.
