Characteristics of Lustau 3 en Rama Fino de Jerez de la Frontera
Lustau 3 en Rama Fino de Jerez de la Frontera is a fino sherry produced by Bodegas Lustau in Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz.
Lustau was founded in 1896, evolving throughout the years, and is now home to three wineries in the cities of Marco de Jerez, Jerez de la Frontera, Puerto de Santa María and Sanlucar de Barrameda. Lustau is the first and only company to be able to offer a range of 3 “en Rama” Finos and Manzanilla Sherries, one from each of the 3 cities in the Sherry triangle, with the aim of highlighting the typical characteristics of each zone and vintage.
Lustau 3 en Rama Fino de Jerez de la Frontera is made exclusively with the Palomino Fino grape variety and is aged via the solera system. The wine is selected from two boots of a selection of 708 to ensure the highest degree of finesse and elegance. The wine is neither stabilised nor filtered before being bottled, coming straight from the cask (hence the term ‘en rama’), preserving its qualities.
This fino sherry reflects the character of the Jerezano region where it was made, slightly drier and sharper than the other two regions.
Jerez is home to an exceptional culture in winemaking and viticulture, producing an incredible variety of wines. Sherry and the DO. Jerez region are unlike any other wine or region in Spain and symbolise a centuries-old culture and a true art form of ecological tradition. Even today it is fair to say that these wines have not found their equivalent in the world, and are therefore a real asset to the Spanish word of wine.
