Characteristics of Lunares Bonus Track

Lunares Bonus Track is a white wine made in the Malaga town of Ronda by the Lunares winery.

A rara avis wine that will delight those palates seeking new emotions. There are only 200 bottles in this first vintage, of which we’ve been able to obtain 24 for our customers. Here is the description of the wine the winery has sent us:

"This is a wine that we started to make in 2011 because we came across a small plot of "Perruna" grapes by chance, in a nearby town called Yunquera. We collect around 500 kg a year from this plot, of which all have gone to the botas and criaderas that we now have (currently 1 bota-solera and 2 criaderas, which we would like to increase soon to 2 or 3 botas).

With regard to preparation, we macerate with the skins, and so it could be an Orange Wine. All the botas currently have a veil, oscillating between 2 mm and 10 mm throughout the year. With the veil we will soon carry out a study to see the strains and so on.  It is also oxidative due to the times it is left with less veil, decantings and so on. So it could be an Orange Wine, with biological and oxidative, without a vintage and corriendo escalas (running the scales) since 2011. At the beginning it was more of a white with aging, and since the veil appeared we have been feeding it with new wine until now."

Designation of Origin D.O. Málaga-Sierras de Málaga

There was a time where Málaga was a region of real prestige, their wines were consumed in European Courts, enjoyed across the European and American markets, more famous than the wines from Jerez at its peak. Authentic Málaga wines are one of the true treasures of fortified wines, deep, sweet, profound, mysterious in their translucent darkness, which even now are some of the world’s leading wines, from their whites, known for their dryness, up to their Pajarete wines, which easily reach an alcoholic content of around 20%.
