Characteristics of Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuissé Petites Pierres
Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuissé Petites Pierres is a single-variety Chardonnay white wine made by Louis Jadot and is classed as a AOC Pouilly-Fuissé Petites Pierres wine.
Louis Jadot is one of the most important wineries in Burgundy, and also operates as a trader. It was founded in 1859 and manages over 200 hectares. They have had their own cooperage since 1995 to make barrels to ferment and age some of their wines.
The Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuissé Petites Pierres vineyards are located in the south of Burgundy, on the northern edge of the Beaujolais area. Pouilly-Fuissé is the top Mâconnais wine. The area only grows white Chardonnay grapes in Jurassic clay and limestone soils.
The Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuissé Petites Pierres vintage is manually harvested in boxes to preserve the integrity of the fruit. Once in the winery, they are gently pressed and then fermented in barrels, one third of which are new every year. Finally, the wine is aged for 15 months on its own lees until it is bottled.
Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuissé Petites Pierres is a delicate and distinctive wine.
