Characteristics of Llopart Leopardi Vintage Gran Reserva Brut Nature
Llopart Leopardi Vintage Gran Reserva Brut Nature is a cava made by Llopart supported by D.O. Cava, the winery began its career making cava in 1887, during the phylloxera plague, which did not stop Jaume Llopart and his son Josep Llopart.
This cava is a coupage of Macabeo (40%),Xarel·lo (40%), Parellada (10%) and Chardonnay (10%) varieties grown in Heredad Can Llopart, the estate can be found on accented hill slopes at an average altitude of 340 metres above sea level.
The climate in this area is characterised by pleasant winters and sunny summers but not warm. The Montserrat cordillera protects the vines from cold winds from the north during winter and moderate temperatures.
As for the production, once the coupage is made, the wine undergoes a second fermentation. Llopart Leopardi Vintage Gran Reserva Brut Nature rests for a minimum of 48 months in the bottle, the time that it takes for the natural process of the bubbles to turn the wine into cava.

Tasting notes Llopart Leopardi Vintage Gran Reserva Brut Nature
Cava was born under the constant shadow of its French counterpart, Champagne. However, produced over 1,200km away and a gap of over 100 years, Cava was always going to be a completely different product, even if produced using the same method and and sometimes with the same varieties. Firstly the climate and soil have a profound impact on the yields, while the plant strains that thrive here and completely different to those in the Champagne region. Fortunately, as more winemakers are becoming convinced of this, they are producing Cavas with their own personality, showing off the art of the second fermentation in the bottle like no other wine region in the world.
