Le Clos des Grillons Les Grillons Rouge is an organic and natural red wine made from the Syrah and Garnacha Tinta varieties in the Rhone (France) by the Le Clos des Grillons winery.
Formerly a professor of history and geography, Nicolas Renaud left everything behind to pursue his great passion, wine. Under the guidance of great natural winemaker Eric Pfifferling, he set up his own project, Le Clos des Grillons, in 2005 in Rochefort du Gard (Rhone). He has a total of 18 hectares of organically cultivated vineyards that produce wonderful wines without any additives, except for a very small dose of sulphur.
Le Clos des Grillons Les Grillons Rouge comes from vines aged between 30 and 60 years old and planted in an impressive mosaic of plots with unique rocks. They are cultivated according to biodynamic principles using natural homeopathic treatments. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, the wine is made with minimal intervention to showcase the maximum expression of the terroir. Le Clos des Grillons Les Grillons Rouge is made through a 6-day carbonic maceration of grapes with the stems left on, followed by a spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Only a minimal homeopathic dose of sulphur is added and the wine is racked and bottled by gravity.
Le Clos des Grillons Les Grillons Rouge is a red wine that is known for its openness and natural delicacy. A true red fruit explosion.
