Characteristics of La Maison Romane Hautes-Côtes de Nuits
La Maison Romane Hautes-Côtes de Nuits is a Pinot Noir red wine from the AOC Hautes Côtes de Nuits produced by La Maison Romane.
La Maison Romane is a winery founded by Oronce de Beler in 2005. It buys the grapes from trusted producers and helps them to work the vineyards it will vinify biodynamically. It ploughs the lands with its two horses. All the plots are harvested by hand to respect the grapes as much as possible, and in order to make a first selection of grapes while still in the field. The second selection is made in the winery to ensure that only bunches in optimal conditions are vinified.
Like the rest of the wines from the winery, La Maison Romane Hautes-Côtes de Nuits is made by vatting whole bunches. Once the wine is vinified, it ages from 15 to 19 months in barrels of French oak from the Tronçay forest. The winemaking is performed by following the lunar cycles, and working with the help of gravity instead of pumps.
