Characteristics of La Garnacha Salvaje del Moncayo
Este vino tinto pertenece a la colección Garnachas de España, homenaje a esta variedad que vuelve a aparecer con fuerza.
La Garnacha Salvaje del Moncayo está elaborada a partir de viñas viejas de más de 55 años situadas en parcelas en la cara norte del Moncayo, en suelos pizarrosos y llenas de guijarros con unas temperaturas muy bajas en invierno.
Vendimiada la última semana de octubre, realiza una vinificación tradicional con una primera fermentación en depósitos de acero a menos de 25º y una maceración de unos 14 días. Fermentación y crianza en barricas nuevas de roble francés.

It is quite closed at the beginning, but when it opens up, intense and fleshy notes of ripe red fruit are released, wrapped in mellow creamy aromas nuanced by some intense toasted hints and a subtle background of forest herbs.TasteVery pleasant red wine with lots of fruit. It shows a good, slightly warm attack and a soft and silky mid palate, with a more balanced notes of fruit and wood. Some milky aromas are also noticed along with hints of violets and mineral notes that turn the set into a mellow wine. Good acidity and polished tannins. Good but not very long finish.

Clean and quite bright wine with abundant thin tears.NoseA surprising wine with powerful aromas with intense toasted aromas and creamy sweet spices initially released, reminiscent of the intense wooden aromas from the oak in which the wine was shortly aged. When it opens up, the red fruit gains in intensity and the nuances of tobacco are mixed with notes of cocoa and lots of hints of bushes and herbs which result in a fresh balsamic aroma. Elegant mineral background.TasteGood, nice and tasty attack. The fruit stays in the background while the minerals and wooden aromas take centre stage, even if they are not as intense as in the nose. It has a soft, silky and warm mid palate with a good freshness provided by the balsamic notes and its good acidity. Its polished tannins are sweet but noticeable. Good finish sans une bonne persistence.

This wine collection is the result of a very personal project started by the oenologist Raúl Acha, who undertook the search of the vineyards which better reflect the essence of this variety all over Spain. The result is a collection of varietal wines made of hundred-year old vineyards, which perfectly renders the concept of "terroir" since each of these wines shows all the nuances and the peculiarities of the land from which it comes from.
