Characteristics of La Garnacha Olvidada de Aragón
Garnacha Olvidada de Aragón is a red wine from the DO Calatayud, prepared by Project Garnacha in Spain. This is a personal project of Raúl Acha that relies on researching and selecting varietal Grenache from ancient vineyards that best express the essence of this variety.
La Garnacha, which come from the Garnacha Project in Spain, produce wines with fruity, fresh and easy drinking character, this fits well with the likes of new consumers.

An ideal climate to produce excellent Garnacha.
Garnacha Olvidada de Aragón is made from grapes from old Grenache vines planted in glass trellises in 1940. The harvest is done manually during the second week of October as autumn is very favourable for maturation.
Fermentation at less than 25 degrees takes place in concrete tanks of 15,000kg, here they marinate for 17 days. The aging lasts 10 months and is conducted in French oak barrels.

The history and legendary Camino de Santiago to Navarra, with the resulting French and Central European cultural influence in the area, influenced in the Middle Ages the tradition of unique wines, centred on the use of the Garnacha Tinta grape variety. The modernisation of wineries, the careful choice of the vineyards, the incorporation of noble varieties, and the commitment of winemakers seeking more flavour instead of alcohol, has led to a new generation of Calatayud wines, which are fine, elegant and very personal.
This wine collection is the result of a very personal project started by the oenologist Raúl Acha, who undertook the search of the vineyards which better reflect the essence of this variety all over Spain. The result is a collection of varietal wines made of hundred-year old vineyards, which perfectly renders the concept of "terroir" since each of these wines shows all the nuances and the peculiarities of the land from which it comes from.
