Characteristics of La Bota de Amontillado 49 "Bota A.R."
La Bota de Amontillado AR 49 is an extremely old amontillado, about 80 years old, prepared by the traditional method of hatcheries and sills in Jerez.
The history of this amontillado is as special as the wine itself: Team Navazos rescued this forgotten collection of single casks of Pedro Romero, which in turn were acquired by the deceased Gaspar Florido.
The AR initials stand for the acronym "Ansar Real", an exotic breed of duck, which in turn is named after one of the most exclusive vintages of Jerez. This is a very old wine, in which everything is maximized. A very unique wine, of which only 1,200 half bottles were made. A work of art. A piece of history. A world-class wine.

Tasting notes La Bota de Amontillado 49 "Bota A.R."
In the glass, it is a deep dark amber colour with a green trim, proof of extreme maturity.
An incredibly intense nose, aromas fill the room from one single glass! Notes of iodine, peat, smoke, roasted nuts ... Spectacular evolution in the glass, offering new flavours constantly. Orange peel, spices, nutmeg, incense, seaweed, salted almonds, hazelnuts, iron, ash ... Something out of the ordinary.
The palate is powerful, intense, and concentrated. Stunning saline notes. Incredibly long. A unique wine.

Jerez is home to an exceptional culture in winemaking and viticulture, producing an incredible variety of wines. Sherry and the DO. Jerez region are unlike any other wine or region in Spain and symbolise a centuries-old culture and a true art form of ecological tradition. Even today it is fair to say that these wines have not found their equivalent in the world, and are therefore a real asset to the Spanish word of wine.
